Career move: Police recruit.?

I am considering moving to another state so that I may start Police Academy Training in a few months. The issue I have is that I have no car, job, money nor do I know anyone in that part of the state. My question is, should I reconsider this career move and stay put until I have a car or something or should I go there not knowing whether Police recruit pay will indeed come in 2 weeks after I start? Opinions please! Thanks.
