Cotton ball stuck to wood furniture. How to remove?

Since the surface finish has already been ruined by the nail polish remover, I would just use more of it to get the last of the cotton bits off the finish. Use it on a Q-tip or something small like that so you don't damage a larger area. Then you'll have to refinish that spot if not the whole surface, but that's another question.
