My 6 mo old Japanese Chin puppy likes to?

hide his treats. I think it's funny because I'm normally sitting there watching him when he does it. Like teaching him some training commands and after he got his treat for being such an obedient puppy, he took it and placed it in my sweatpants and folded it over as to hide it. I thought it was really cute, but I was wondering is this a normal thing for dogs or puppies to do? Is it in their nature to hide their food, and do they actually come back and eat it later, or do they just do that because they don't like the particular treat? He's even hid some of his other treats under the bed covers and one under the pillow.
