How suicidal do you have to be to get admitted inpatient?

you need help and it really doesn't have to be in a hospital...you can get help on an outpatient basis...but you have to want to get help and be ready to take a long time to get healed...the first step is admitting you need the help..which is what you'vedone here..now get the help...how do i know...my son-in-law committed suicide...we miss him sooo...
