Why did verizon give me an older version of the env2 and it was pre owned?

ok so i went to verizon and they replaced my env2 with another preowned env2. i could tell it was an older version because it has sucky features unlike my other env2. why would they replace mine with an older version it sucks its slow has sucky features and the keys are worn and dawl shou i go ask for a free switch to a voyager?
