Shock after nearly being hit by a car?

Me and my sister were crossing the road and the road looked clear i could see a car coming but it looked kinda far away and was going slowly,so we started to cross the road and i think the car must of sped up as the road was clear and so we quickly crosses and suddenly we saw the car and it screeched to hault. After this we felt to shocked we were shaking, i thought i was going to cry, i can also get panic attacks and think i might have had a small one afterwards. But now i can't stop thinking about it and keep imagining us to get hit and i feel really bad that i said we could cross and caused us to nearly get hit. I was watching a news special the other day and it said that credit card companies and collection agencies spend lots of time and money trying to collect worthless debt ? They pray on poor uneducated people to try and collect debt that is not even worth pursuing. When i loan money to a friend and they don't pay me back in like 2 or 3 months i just write the debt off as a loss and don't loan any more money to that person and that's it life goes on. For Daytona, the ECR drivers have won both plate races already this year (McMurray - Daytona, Harvick - Talladega), they swept the top 3 at Talladega, and had all 5 cars in the top 15 in the Daytona 500, and McMurray also won at Talladega last fall, and won the 2007 race at Daytona, so the entire ECR group will be strong at Daytona.Chicagoland has been good to Jeff Gordon in the past, and he has been the strongest on the 1.5 mile tracks this year. I think he'll be tough to beat there. For Indy, Juan Montoya will look to finish the deal this year, Pocono can come down to any kind of strategy leading in the closing stages. Hamlin has been lucky the past two races there to have the holes open up for him in the end, and letting him take the win, but that type of race could go to anybody depending on where the holes open up, or if there are enough cautions to have a viable winning strategy. Watkins Glen will probably be a lot like Sonoma, cars off the track, and a variety of drivers at the front. Marcos Ambrose will be like a bull in a china shop, I can ure you that. Michigan is another notorious fuel-mileage track, and could lead to an upset winner late, Bristol is just that, bristol, and anything can take anyone out. Yes, Aileen was evil, and she probably would have never killed anyone if her childhood was different. If she had grown up in a loving home, she would probably been a normal fine person, but that was not the case. I do believe her experiences in life influenced her greatly in becoming a serial killer. Should she be killed for her crimes? Yes, I believe so. She was of sound mind and knew exactly what she was doing when she killed. She planned the killings. She was robbing men and killing them to shut them up. She lured them into an isolated area and killed them in a cold blooded manner. I don't think the people that had their loved ones murdered really care about why she did it or what caused her to do it. You cannot excuse someone because they had a terrible childhood. She still had the ability to not kill and she chose to kill instead. That is evil no matter what the reason might be for doing it. Her childhood probably did lead to her ability to kill at will, but she is where she should be right now. Giving her the death penalty was the right and just thing to do.

Why do people want to ban the 10 commandments from courthouses etc?

I know they come from the Old Testament but they are universal values that most people teach their children. Only Atheists would not like the first commandment, but if you don't believe in God what difference would the first one make to you. All in all I think the 10 commandments should be embraced. It is nice to have some of these things in our courthouses etc. We will never be able to replace it in this day and age because everyone is so open minded they stand for everything and nothing , so no decision ever gets made. it is kinda gross. I mean she might have some infection etc.. When you give the milk to donation they pasturize it so if there is anything growing in it it dies. Should I be getting my hopes up?

My boyfriend and I just started trying for our first baby. We figured out when I should be ovulating, and well, you know! My period isn't due for another 5 days. It is ALWAYS like clockwork. Endometriosis experiences with hysterectomy?

I'm 30 and have kids. I had my hysto in March '07. Mine was due to fibroid and large cyst on my ovary. I had excessive bleeding, constant stabbing right sided abdominal pain, was unable to urinate sometimes, constipation, pressure on my rib cage, shortness of breath, pelvic pain. All pain is gone though I still have both ovaries so I'm uming cysts could return so could the pain. But suffice it to say I think it is AWESOME!!!!! I feel great and no periods!!! You WILL feel so much better I highly recommend it.

This story is all true. I got a call from the office of my daughters school this morning. The secretary of the school said that they were transporting my daughter to the South Park hospital because she had become sick. To give you the best explanation i will have to start at the beginning. I was with someone, we'll call him charlie, for four months. Not the greatest decision in my life. Was not the best boyfriend, but didn't really hurt me. Only financially. We had a friend, we'll call him Malcolm, and we all worked together. Towards the end of our (Charlies and me) relationship i started having feelings for Malcolm. We got promoted at the same time but he went to a different location and different shift (overnights) and i stayed at the same location with the same shift (days). His new position is turning out to be more stressful than mine, he's actually thinking about quiting. About two months ago he moved in with Charlie cause he had to. As you might be able to tell from my recent posts, I am an avid visualizer. Every morning I do one creative visualization session and use positive affirmations throughout the day. I have been studying and reading the books of such greats like Jose Silva, Bob Proctor, Richard Webster, and more, and one thing that I think all writers within the New Thought Movement have come to a concensus on is that the alpha level brain state, which is the state in which brainwaves run at about 8 to 12 cycles per seconds or hertz, is the best for visualizing and positive self-talk (affirmations). Often times, however, I have a difficult time jumping into and staying in this state because of my chaotic schedule. At the normal level (or what some might call beta, when we're wide awake and functioning throughout or day) I am bombarded with various stimuli like wishes, desires, thoughts, anxiety, brainstorming, etc, which makes it difficult for me to transition into alpha. I recently purchased an mp3 file online which is a binaural beat called "centered meditation", and although it doesn't specifically say that is for helping one get into an alpha brainwave state, it does just that for me when I listen to it. So my question very simply is this: can I listen to this 60 minute long binaural beat while I visualize the things and cirstances that I wish to manifest in my life or not?

(I hope the end doesn't get cut off...) (Please, before you comment, test this theory yourself... PLEASE...). I read another post on this site where EVERYONE stated that 80 proof alcohol, whether its whiskey or vodka or gin or whatever is flammable. Really, its not. How do I know this...? Well, for a bunch of reasons reasons. Number 1), 80 proof means 40% alcohol by volume. The alcohol is so diluted that the concentration becomes non-flammable, but if you don't believe me, again, please test it yourself. (A lot of the time, mixing many of the other widely used flammable liquids with water is like, well, the term "Oil & Water Don't Mix"; because of the different densities, they separate, with the lighter density liquid floating to the top. While alcohol is less dense than water, its close enough to mix completely, causing the dilution. However, water & a lot of other flammable liquids don't mix, this is why some polluted lakes, "catch on fire" because the accelerant is less dense than water & sits on top. One match and *poof* "Lake of Fire"). Number 2), when I was a teen in N.C., my pyromaniac friends & I usually had NOTHING to do but play with matches, so one night we ran out of lighter fluid (and homeless people..... I'm kidding, I'm kidding...) & decided to try the whiskey we had which, as you probably guessed it, would not light no matter what we did to it, & neither would the Vodka. And Number 3), my stupid friend (now because of what he thought, but rather what he did next) also thought regular liquor WAS flammable & before we could stop him, he threw a Molotov tail made out of a fairly nice, nearly full bottle of whiskey & a pair of someone's dirty underwear at a nearby wall & succeeded in doing nothing but waste a very nice bottle of hooch and, I guess, Christen the wall. Whenever you see people doing that trick where they take a mouthful of alcohol, put a flame to their mouths & spit out fire, thats usually Bacardi 151 rum (Meaning 151 proof) or Everclear (which is generally 190 Frickin' Proof. That'll put some hair on your chest. And, if you use it topically, it'll take it right off again...). THATS flammable, let me tell you. I am not sure if 100 proof vodka, like Mr. Boston's, is flammable, but it can only increase the chance of igniting. So, next time you see someone pouring 80 proof whiskey all over a bar or something in a movie & then he lights it on fire, thats a lie. Think about it: back when you could smoke in bars, with the amount of presumably flammable alcohol being served, lying in puddles on the floor & the counter & being exhaled by patrons, the average bar would go up like bomb is that were true (When they serve those flaming drinks, again, thats usually Bacardi 151, not normal 80 proof liquor). And just one more for common sense, if it were flammable, no bar in the WORLD would be able to get insurance. So, should you test what I tested under controlled cirstances to glean the truth for yourself...? Yes, but please use goggles & have a fire extinguisher nearby, just in case. A lot of time, accidents can happen. I was young & stupid when I initially did mine, so... And then I did them all again later when I was bartender, but that was just for fun... 'Sure do miss that bar, but they had great fire insurance, so, y'know, everything worked out in the end...). Okay, one last thing, please, Please, PLEASE don't comment on a hunch or whatever. Tell me your answer after your results have been verified by a quick test. Most people have SOME liquor around the house or some thats easily obtainable. Take a capful, strike a match & test this theory yourself. I'm just amazed by how many people think it is flammable, but have never been in the presence of an example or done their own test. And it just irks me when people says, "I don't need to test, research, look up and/or verify what I know because I don't have to. I'm know I'm right...!". My fiance (now husband) told me that all my male friends (and a few of my female ones were w@nkers). In terms of the male friends - I was told to get rid of them as they were only waiting until I was desperate/drunk to get into my drawers. The female ones - were trying to influence and control me and did not have my best intentions at heart. Interestingly, it turned out he was right. I have no male mates anymore apart from the guys at work. I have a handful of female friends who are the dogs doodahs and who get on well with my husband. I didn't resent his opinion and I went along with his requests because ultimately, he is more important to me than anyone (along with my children of course and my bestest friend). If he suspects something else, then he will do a biopsy. When I was a teen, the first the Dr would do is remove the cysts and put in through a bunch of tests to make sure it was not going to cause any harm. However, now because there are so many different types of cysts and tumors, most radiologist can tell the difference. You will be alright. If you are hot happy with what your Dr tells you, you always have the option of a second opinion which you should do anyway. I always get another opinion no matter what they say. Good luck. Married filing jointly or separately with a spouse that WAS on SSI?

Here's the deal. We got married in July '08 but my husband was still getting SSI benefits through July '09. They never asked & he never told them he was married. I did some research & found out that he was not eligible to received benefits if he was married to me because I earned too much. so he got off SSI on his own & told them he didn't want the payments anymore to avoid any problems & we've been living off my salary since then which was July '09. So now I'm getting ready to file my taxes for '09 and I'm going to owe $1,100 if I file Married Filing Separately. I wanted to do it that way just in case my filing will get him in trouble & he'll have to pay back 6 months of SSI benefits that we can't afford. But if I file Married Filing Jointly I GET BACK $1,000. I have no idea how to file my personal taxes without getting my husband in trouble for having those benefits for 1/2 of 2009. Help anyone? I've just eaten a whole cake and my diet is bad?

What is a heart scan.?

I had byp surgery 6 months ago. Am currently in a cardiac rehab program. I had my stress test after 3 months of cardio went from 4 mets to 11 mets however they are now sending me for a heart scan because my heart indicated something wasn't quite right although I wasn't getting any feelings of angina. I'm a little confused because cardio increased my exersice which is great for me. Anyway my question is if I felt fine for the stress test what is going on with my heart. How can I safely get rid of large house flies?

I've lived in the same house for 5 years and never had this problem before. I get a couple of random house flies that sneak in during the summer but never have I experienced this. The flies I'm getting look like horseflies but they seem to move slower. I mean, these suckers are just huge! I keep a clean home, all my trash sources are bagged and covered and I live nowhere near any sort of livestock. I killed 3 within a 5 minute span around my living room window yesterday. Recently, we discovered a bit of mold on the floor joists underneath the house and my husband went under the crawlspace and sprayed bleach but he never saw the flies there. We did take the vents out from around the outside of the house after he sprayed so that it could air out so I'm thinking they came from there. But there's no trash or anything under the house; just dirt! I mean, WTF! These things are mutants and I want to get rid of them. Any ideas?

i am on advisement for Contributing to the delinquincy of a minor, during this time i was arrested for possesion of marijuana, i had court today. i was in my friends car when i got arrested along with another friend, he was not there and it was in the door. the owner of the car came forward when i was in jail and wrote a statement saying it was his marijuana for personal use and i didnt know it was in the car, another friend also pleadguilty, and the prosecutor is still tryin to charge me, thats some BS. my judge HATES me and told me if i cam back hes throwin me in jail, and since i have a review for my advisement in 2 weeks, i need to know what the max punishment for contributing to the delinquency of a minor in michigan is, because even though im not convicted and may be found innnocent in this new charge, they can still throw me in jail for havin police contact.

Why do peoples' jobs make them so miserable?

I ask this because I know I'm not the only one going through this. And you know, excluding the obvious reasons, if there is some specific problem at work, that's understandable. But what if there are no significant problems at work that you can think of, its relatively reliable and consistent, if a bit repetitive, its not incredibly stressful, yet you're still so drained and miserable at the end of the day? I just wonder if there's some common factors, maybe less obvious or even subconscious, that cause this. I just wonder, because I know its not just me, but a lot of people I know that go through this and can't pinpoint exactly why.

What can I do about squeaking brakes on my car?

the problem is a combination of incorrect installation and cheap pads. The proper way is to take the rotor and refinish or replace it and when you do that clean all the rust off all metal parts in the brake system as the rust amplifies vibration and squealing. also lubricate the caliper slides and use brake quiet compound on the back of the pads. that other problem is semi metallic pads have a high rate of semi metallic brake pad squealing. i always use ceramic pads as they are not only better for stopping distance but the have almost no brake dust and no noise. and the guy below me is wrong. you HAVE to lube the caliper slide pins.

Firstly, you need to have a think about how serious you are. Because if you are REALLY serious about a career in fashion, you will be willing to work your way up, and that does means starting in jobs like retail or production line (factory), you can't just jump into the perfect job. Also, you will need to go to either college or university to get some training behind you. Designers and dressmakers will not employ someone who has either no experience or training, or who hasn't shown a willingness to learn. Look into further education and see if there are opportunities there that interest you. Also, contact businesses and ask if you can do work experience with them. Anything like that will help. But the bottom line is that you must think again about your feelings towards shop work and factory work. They are excellent starting points that you can work up from.

Actual good French language music?

I'm studying French and want to listen to music while I work to make it a bit less of a chore. I feel like listening to music in English would be distracting though. I have been feeling dizzy occasionally on and off sometimes. i got a physical and blood tests, and i was fine, well i did have strep but i got rid of that. We have (2) vehicles, and use gas to heat our home...we are feeling the pinch! What do you think of the Celestine Prophecy?

I'm reading it for the second time and getting a lot more out of it now that I am an adult, I read it for the first time when I was 15 and back then a lot of the Quantum Physics theories didn't resonate with me as I had yet to really appreciate, and understand a lot of the different interpretations of Q.M. Admittedly, some of James Redfield's insights are a little over simplified, for instance, I don't think that the scope of negative human interaction, his "control dramas", can be so easily pideon-holed into four neat catagories. But in general, I really do find this book somewhat enlightening, well actually, it's more that a lot of his theories are actually ideas I've always thought about and/or believed in. I don't know, maybe humans really are just grasping at straws to distract themselves from the dark, pointlessness of existence. But when I get to certain mental state, be it through over stimulisation by intellectual conversation, or through meditation, etc. I sometimes seem to glean a sliver of insight into the inner workings of the Universe, Multiverse or what have you, and a lot of what James Redfield talks in his book seems to fall into line with what I am coming to believe about the Universe. I've just bought "The Tenth Insight" and the "Experiential Guide" to see if he manages to expand on his concepts any further but I have yet to read them. I'd love to hear what other people think about his works, good and bad. I've read "Why I Hate the Celestine Prophecy" and although he (or she) does pick up on a couple of the negative points I myself noticed about the insights themselves, whoever wrote that strikes me as a bit of an intellectual wannabe. You know what I mean? And a lot of his critisisms revolved around the literary worth of the novel and I don't really care about that. You don't read the Celestine Prophecy for the writing, you read it for the concepts, the story is just a vehicle. But anyway, I'd love to hear some critisism/opinions (or praise if that's how you feel) coming from a considered, rational and/or educated point of view. Anyone?

In the movie Fracture a man shoots his wife who lives and is in a coma. He is charged with attempted murder. He is aquited on grounds of not enough evidence. She was killed legally and therfore he should not of been able to have been charged with murder. In addition a doctor reported that she would of actually outlived her husband. Can they lower my grades?

I received a letter in the mail that said i have missed 10 days throughout the school year and that consequently, i am in danger of falling below grade level. I am a straight A student and i always complete the work I missed during the days I was absent. My question is: Do they mean that they will lower my grades or that if i miss one more day then my grades will be lowered? Also, this is the first letter I have received regarding my absences so can they really lower my grades just like that? Should I take this letter as a warning letter?
